New Neural Substrate Review by YtseRob

New Neural Substrate Review by YtseRob

Despite all of the evils that people claim of the internet, one really great thing can be overlooked, and that’s people’s ability to share their music without shopping around for a record contract. Great music is popping up all over the internet, and I recently was fortunate enough to find an incredible album from a man named Ben Averch.

His solo album ‘New Neural Substrate’ is a major breath of fresh air into the music scene. With imaginative lyrics and truly gifted music, ‘Substrate’ is an album that without a doubt deserves to be heard.

The album kicks off with the tune "Memories Will Disappear", and right from the start I was hooked. The vocals are incredible and times remind me of Steve Hogarth (Marillion), and the music reminds me at times of a Rush/Asia hybrid, the track is that good. The next track, "Through the Ceiling" is a crunchy piece that would not be out of place on a modern music radio station. The vocal harmony in the chorus is very well done, and the guitar work on this track is first rate.

It’s hard to pick out just a couple stand out tracks, but after quite a few listens I found myself really drawn to "Elevations", "Escape Velocity", "Only the Earth" and perhaps one of the better tracks I’ve heard in a while "Woven". A simple song, but very powerful, and the vocals don’t get better than this. This is one internet release that needs to see a worldwide release, this talented musician surely put his heart and soul into this album and deserves to have it heard.

To check out the album visit: BEN'S OFFICIAL SITE. I’m sure you won’t regret it. And don’t forget to check out the bonus tracks, all three every bit as good as the songs that did make the album. This is one to watch people!
